About Jenny
Each of my pots is handcrafted over several days. This methodical process allows me the time to sculpt the form and contemplate its existence as a three-dimensional object within space.
I never begin with a predetermined shape in mind; instead, I let the clay guide me, adjusting the piece as it evolves. Much time is dedicated to perfecting the form before it's burnished to a high gloss with porcelain slip.
Following the bisque, I fire each piece in a gas kiln, either enclosed in a saggar or left bare, to be removed when glowing red and ignited with a variety of combustible materials.
Every creation is an extension of myself, and the exhilaration of seeing a piece emerge from the fire intact with beautiful markings is incomparably magical.
Crafting pots has always been a necessity for me, and I've devoted many years to this passion in my shed, stealing moments amidst motherhood and a busy graphic design career. I now want to make ceramics the focus and get my work out into the world. Iām excited for this new phase in my ceramic journey.
